How to write valuable comments

Always at least read the post that you plan on comment on together with any comments that have already be posted. Then just write what you think about what’s been said so far. You may have a response to another comment or you might have an opinion on the post as a whole.

Only post a comment if you have something valuable to say that adds to the discussion. Don’t post spammy comments just to get a backlink. Think about whether you’d accept the comment on your blog or not.

If someone has asked a question in a previous comment and you have the answer then that’s an ideal reason to post but often blog owners will be interested in your opinion provided it’s not offensive and relates to their post.
